American Wintergreen is a beautiful ground cover which blooms in the summer and produces stunning red berries in the wintertime. The name of this plant implies it's great flavor which is strongest in the berries but also found in the leaves. Speaking of flavor, the berries are frequently used in candy making with the leaves being used in teas.
